Four full days of beautiful crafts from in and around Okinawa City gather at once to be admired, bought, and experienced!

Okinawa City Craft Fair began in 2002 in effort to activate the city with handmade crafts. The fair is held annually at Plaza House Shopping Center, and works created by renown artists from all over the island are exhibited and sold. The fair also looks for up-and-coming craftsmen to exhibit and sell their creations, including dyed goods, textiles, ceramics, glass, and wooden crafts.
Okinawa City's unique textile "Chibana Hanaori" is at the center of the exhibit. Its heritage was completely lost for 100 years due to the war and other circumstances, but in August 2000, the attempt to revive the once lost textile culture for the purpose of its restoration and reconstruction began with Okinawa City playing a central role.
