Ageda Youth Association
Up until the early Taisho Period the hand dance (“Te Odori”) was the mainstay of this group, featuring only male dancers and one large taiko drum. Around 1970 “Ichubi Gwabushi” was introduced to their performance, and they incorporated the movements of “Tenyobushi” from the Goeku Eisa. The synchronized breathing of the roped taiko drumming and the powerful dance of the large taiko drum are distinguishing features. Don't miss the men's hand dance incorporating karate moves and the women's elegant hand dance.
